Not only does dueling allow two players to see who is a better fighter, but it also allows them to put up a stake of items or food or whatever. If you kill your opponent in a duel, only the opponents stake will appear on the ground(not everything in their inventory), as well as bones. Combat colors
The level is the rating of a monster or player. The darker the red, the harder the monster/player is to you. The lighter the green, the easier the monster would be. If it is a non-playing-character, as in it isn't a real player, the color compares your hitpoints level with its combat level. If it is a real player, your combat level will be compared with his/her combat level. In case of two real players having the same combat level, these two players will see each others combat levels as white.
As long as you are not in the wilderness and you are double the monsters lvl & plus one, then the monster cannot attack you.For example a lvl 12 monster cannot attack a lvl 30 player, because
12 X 2=24+1=25.

Wilderness
The Wilderness is a gigantic area north in RuneScape that allows players to attack each other. If your combat level is 25{you enter the wilderness at lvl 1}This means that people with a combat level within 1 of you can attack you. At level 10, you are allowed to attack players with a combat level of 15-35.BUT,players with a level 35 combat can attack you in level 10 wilderness also,so be careful! To find out what wildy lvl u r currently in check in the bottom right corner of the screen.
If you die......
If you die you will be teleported back to Lumbridge. When you die, you will lose all your items except for your 3 most valuable items.BUT, you will not keep stackable items such as money or runes. If you attack someone in the wilderness you will notice that you will get a skull over your head. That skull stays there for 20 minutes if you don't attack someone. If you attack someone with a skull over your head, then your 20 minute period starts again. If you die with a skull over your head you keep absoulutly nothing.Your stats will remain the same if you die and you will regain all of your hitpoints, prayer, and any other stats that were drained. If you use the magic spell Protect Item, you can keep 4 items instead of 3 when u die.
